The collection contains promotional and informational materials related to the public, social and cultural activities of Ukrainian émigrés and emigrant organisations. It covers the period 1915–1947. The documents were originally collected by the Museum of the Struggle for Liberation of Ukraine, which existed in Prague in 1925–1948. The collection was moved to the Slavonic Library at the end of Second World War. After the museum was closed, the collection became part of the library’s holdings.
Most of the documents comprise invitations, leaflets, programmes or posters for various social, public and sporting events. The collection also includes photographs, information and promotional signs, and documents related to important figures and events. It contains printed as well as handwritten and illustrated materials.
The earliest documents are associated with the activities of Ukrainians in prisoner-of-war camps in Austria (Freistadt) and Germany (Rastatt, Salzwedel, Wetzlar) during the First World War. The most recent documents mostly concern the last months of the existence of the Museum of the Struggle for Liberation of Ukraine (Ukrainian Museum in Prague).
The collection is subdivided into sixteen geographical sections according to the countries of origin of the documents, with the exception of the documents created in Galicia, which have been allocated a separate section. Another special thematic section includes 43 posters and invitations concerning the concert activities of the Ukrainian Republican Band (Kapelle) in 1919–1921.
According to the place of origin, the collection has been divided into the following sections:

Within each geographical group, the materials are subdivided according to their size. The shelf-mark series 1–1000 includes the smallest-size documents – usually invitations, programmes or letters up to A4 size. Documents of medium size (approximately A3) are placed in the number series between 1001 and 2000. The rest, labelled with the number 2001 and higher, is formed by large-format posters. In total, the collection consists of 1,381 small-format documents, 168 medium-format documents and 439 large-format posters.
Within each section, the materials are ordered by organising institutions and then chronologically.
Thanks to its scope and diversity of content, the collection provides a vivid picture of the breadth of the public activities of the Ukrainian diaspora as well as of the difficulties encountered by Ukrainians in the difficult conditions of emigration.
